Nice start to the day breakfast Bang My and water on my doorstep next to Pennywise the Poodle. Turn off the highway onto a newly surfaced road and, a few along was a delightful coffee shop in a fishing village wow 22km in first hour.
Great views that were ok until the skyscrapers began. It’s difficult to know where you are as there is no town sign name. On the way into the city of Nha Trang there were many unfinished massive building projects
Had a wholesome and fun lunch on the S outskirts of Nhà Trang. SUA can mean milk or thin bits of almost transparent eel skin.
Unusually but a good idea, the traffic heading south is segregated into 2lane middle for vehicles a lane either side for the 2way traffic on each side but I could not get out of there fast enough. Several vast derelict resorts along the way. from the map it looked like it would be a scenic ride out of NT but it went down to 4 lanes with no hard shoulder, plenty of cars today including a Porche. No chance of viewing the coast.
Some loons driving way too fast on rental BMW trans Sahara motorbikes {on tarmac roads} I even saw a Ducati 916, a beautiful bike but not a well known touring bike!
The long coastal strip was quiet but no chance of seeing the ocean. The airport had passenger jets taking off and there was maybe a military airport next door. Two long days required to get to Phan Thiet for a few days. Then it’s how to get to the other side of Saigon to the Mekon Delta for a ferry up the mighty River Mekon to Phnom Penh! I made this boat trip with family when the children were quite young, we even stayed 2 nights in the Raffles Hotel PPenh before we moved on.
